MAKE-UP DAYS

Edwardsburg Public Schools Parents/Guardians, we have missed 10 days of school so far. We are able to have eight of these days forgiven because of State Law. At this point, we have to adjust our calendar and make up two days. If no additional days are missed, the following will be added:
June 5 - Full day for students
June 8 - Full day for students
June 9 - will be a ½ day for students

*
Please note that this could change due to any future inclement weather conditions and additional days may need to be added to the calendar.

Volunteer Background Checks

Volunteers play a very important role in the educational experience offered at Edwardsburg Public Schools. We are thankful for the generous support of hundreds of individuals who donate their time in our schools. Because of the importance of student safety, the district has updated our Volunteer Release Form for an Internet Criminal History check on all volunteers who are in regular direct contact with students.  This includes volunteer coaches and volunteers who travel on trips with students.

Prospective and current volunteers will need to fill out the revised form and provide a copy of your current driver's license.  This form is available in your school's office or on our website.  Current volunteers, as well as new volunteers, are required to undergo a background check.  We appreciate your cooperation.  Working together, we can provide great opportunities for our students.

District Announcements
2016 SAT Information and Resources
In January 2015, schools across the state of Michigan were surprised with the announcement that beginning in the spring of 2016, the State of Michigan will no longer offer the ACT exam to high school juniors and instead offer the SAT exam.  Here are some resources so far to help explain the ACT and SAT comparison, and where students and families can go to obtain additional information.
A great deal of information about the redesigned SAT is available directly from College Board, which maintains a website specifically for informing students, families and educators, and college admissions faculty.  Here are some of those resources:

·          A side-by-side comparison of the current SAT and the redesigned SAT
·         Sign-up for updates from College Board about the new SAT
·         A simplified one-page blueprint of the redesigned SAT
·         Information on the new SAT scoring scale
·         A PowerPoint slide presentation about the ACT to SAT transition
·         Test blueprint of the redesigned SAT
·         Additional information
