MHSAA District Cheer Competition will continue!

February 17, 2023

Dear Families and Staff,
After consultation with the local and county road authorities we are being told it is safe to allow bus travel to the MHSAA District Cheer Competition being held at Thornapple Kellogg High School. As you know, weather conditions vary greatly throughout Michigan. Weather and road authorities are informing EPS that it is safe travel to and from the competition.

Generally, EPS cancels evening activities when weather conditions close the district. In rare instances, when weather conditions improve and the event is a MHSAA Tournament, we have allowed participation.

Earlier today the bowling team was not allowed to travel north to participate in a conference event. At that time, the road conditions were uncertain, and the event was not a MHSAA Tournament event.

Based on the information received from the road authorities, the decision has been made to allow the EPS Competitive Cheer team to travel to the MHSAA District Cheer Competition. All Cheerleaders participating will be contacted with updated information. Any additional questions related to this competition from a member of this team should be directed to the Cheer Coach.

Good luck Eddies! Make us proud!

Sincerely,

James A. Knoll, Ed.S.,
Superintendent of Schools

School Closure on December 23, 2022

December 22, 2022
Dear Families and Staff,

Edwardsburg Public Schools, along with Cass County Superintendents, and the local Road Commission, have been monitoring the weather over the last few days. This morning, the Cass County Superintendents met to evaluate the approaching winter storm and potential blizzard conditions expected this evening. In anticipation of the inclement weather, Edwardsburg Public Schools will be closed tomorrow, Friday, December 23, 2022.

At this time, our school district will maintain a regular schedule for today. Busses and students will be released at their regularly scheduled times. We will continue to monitor today’s weather conditions in the event we need to re-evaluate dismissal times. However, all after-school activities have been postponed or cancelled.

Enjoy your Winter Break! Stay safe and healthy!

Sincerely,
James A. Knoll, Ed.S.,
Superintendent of Schools
