EPS Educator Evaluation System
Edwardsburg Public Schools has a rigorous, transparent, and fair performance evaluation system in place that: 
  • Evaluates teachers and school administrators at least annually with multiple direct observations;
  • Incorporates student growth measures as a significant portion of evaluation based on student growth and assessment data, and provides teachers and administrators with relevant data;
  • Uses research-based measures to determine student growth;
  • Uses multiple rating categories (highly effective, effective, minimally effective, and ineffective) that take into account data on student growth as a significant factor;
  • Uses the evaluations, at a minimum, to inform decisions regarding all of the following:
  1. The effectiveness of teachers and administrators,
  2. Promotion, retention, and development of teachers and school administrators,
  3. Granting of tenure or full certification, or both,
  4. Removing ineffective tenured and untenured teachers and administrators, and
  5. Evaluation results are used to inform ongoing job-embedded professional development
