Bus Riding Safety Rules

  1. Be courteous; no profane or vulgar gestures or language.
  2. The bus driver is authorized to assign seats. Please cooperate by sitting only in your assigned seat, facing the front of the bus.
  3. Remain seated while the bus is in motion.
  4. The aisle (walkway between the seats) and emergency door area are to be kept clear at all times.
  5. Keep the bus clean. Do not be destructive to school property.
  6. Keep your hands, head and feet, etc., inside the bus.
  7. Eating, drinking, or smoking are not allowed on the bus.
  8. Throwing things on or at the bus is not allowed.
  9. Talk quietly and refrain from yelling or screaming.
  10. Fighting or horseplay is not allowed.
  11. Students are not allowed to leave the bus without the consent of the driver.
  12. Objects that may be deemed hazardous to the safety of any passenger will not be allowed on the bus.
  13. Projects that cannot be held on a student's lap will not be allowed on the bus without permission of the Transportation Director.
  14. Windows may be opened, with the driver's permission, no further than the third notch from the closed position.
  15. There is to be no talking while the bus is stopped or while crossing railroad tracks.
  16. Students are to board buses immediately after school is dismissed and are to remain on the bus until dropped at their designated stop.
  17. Shuttle students are to board their own bus immediately upon being dismissed from the shuttle bus
  18. Students must obey the instructions and directions of the school bus drivers and activity sponsors.
  19. Students must ride only their assigned bus. Students will be picked up and dropped off only at their designated stops.
  20. Students must cooperate and comply with all student loading, unloading and crossing procedures.
  21. No animals are allowed on the school bus.
