Bus Riding Safety Rules
- Be courteous; no profane or vulgar gestures or language.
- The bus driver is authorized to assign seats. Please cooperate by sitting only in your assigned seat, facing the front of the bus.
- Remain seated while the bus is in motion.
- The aisle (walkway between the seats) and emergency door area are to be kept clear at all times.
- Keep the bus clean. Do not be destructive to school property.
- Keep your hands, head and feet, etc., inside the bus.
- Eating, drinking, or smoking are not allowed on the bus.
- Throwing things on or at the bus is not allowed.
- Talk quietly and refrain from yelling or screaming.
- Fighting or horseplay is not allowed.
- Students are not allowed to leave the bus without the consent of the driver.
- Objects that may be deemed hazardous to the safety of any passenger will not be allowed on the bus.
- Projects that cannot be held on a student's lap will not be allowed on the bus without permission of the Transportation Director.
- Windows may be opened, with the driver's permission, no further than the third notch from the closed position.
- There is to be no talking while the bus is stopped or while crossing railroad tracks.
- Students are to board buses immediately after school is dismissed and are to remain on the bus until dropped at their designated stop.
- Shuttle students are to board their own bus immediately upon being dismissed from the shuttle bus
- Students must obey the instructions and directions of the school bus drivers and activity sponsors.
- Students must ride only their assigned bus. Students will be picked up and dropped off only at their designated stops.
- Students must cooperate and comply with all student loading, unloading and crossing procedures.
- No animals are allowed on the school bus.
